Wait, what month is it again? As Colorado approaches the end of the season, it’s suddenly feeling like mid-February. We’re happy to report that the vast majority of Colorado ski resorts received eight inches of snow within the last 72 hours and there’s more snow in the forecast into the weekend. Most Colorado ski resorts are set to close this coming Sunday, April 14, and there’s another potential storm on track for next week that could drop even more fresh powder for some the remaining resorts that will be open: such as Aspen Highlands and Winter Park. Sometimes the stars align, and it’s looking like that’s the case for closing days at Colorado ski resorts. Vail Closing Day
Thanks to 12 inches of new snow in the last week, Vail’s Back Bowls and Blue Sky Basin will be open and skiing great through closing day on April 14. Like its terrain, Vail closing day is big. Steamboat Springs is renowned as a “snow vortex,” it’s often a Colorado leader in annual snowfall, and this year was no different.
